Take a Train Ride into Shore History At the Ocean County Library Point Pleasant Beach Branch

April 28, 2022

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Ocean County’s once-vast rail transit system belongs to yesteryear, but its remnants can be seen to this day. And nostalgia for the days of Ocean County rail travel remains alive and well in the minds of many residents.

Take a vivid look at the railroads of Ocean County’s past during a special presentation at 7 PM Monday, May 9, in the Ocean County Library Point Pleasant Beach Branch.

German Georgieff, Chief Naturalist at Wells Mills County Park in Waretown, will be your conductor for an excursion along the dusty rails of historic Ocean County.

Using photos and historical accounts, German will highlight significant features and structures of that storied time, many of which remain in the Ocean County landscape.

Registration at www.theoceancountylibrary.org is required for this free program. The Point Pleasant Beach Branch is located at 710 McClean Avenue. To learn more, call (732) 892-4575.
